Arrests. --The city police yesterday arrested Jas. C. Grany for unlawfully taking a pair of shoes from P. G. Wescoath, negro; and Hetty Tyler, colored, for stealing $60 worth of clothing from John S. Austin.
Police Court. --Yesterday Hetty Tyler. free negress, charged with stealing $60 worth of wearing apparel from John S. Austin, underwent an examination, and was sent before the Hustings Court for trial.--Patrick Dempsey, arrested for stealing a pistol worth $60 from Wm. H. Greanor, and feloniously stealing $20 in Bank notes, also with having in his possession a large Bowie-knife, and for trespassing on Nathan Ellis. For these multiplied offences, David got an order entitling him to receive a licking according to law.--Susan, slave of Mrs. Dr. Tyler, arrested by the Watch for going at large, was let off.--Mary, slave of Mr. John Blank, was arraigned for frequently using obscene and abusive language to Mrs. Mary McKeever, and when threatened for so doing using insolent and defiant language "in the most impudent and menacing way."
