Shooting a marine. --Two soldiers' named W. E. Smith and Andrew B. Walker were arrested yesterday and conducted to Castle Thunder for the careless use of firearms entrusted to them. It appears that they were shooting their muskets at the bank separating the dock from the river, and not sufficiently digressing their pieces, one of the balls bounded and inflicted quite a severe wound on Simon Jones, a marine, to the gunboat Beaufort.
Discharged. --Andrew B. Walker and William R. Smith, two soldiers arrested on Friday last and put in Castle Thunder for accidentally shooting a marine belonging to the Beaufort were taken before the Mayor, who, after an examination of the case, let the parties off.
