Thomas, whose predecessor, Ware, was killed in battle. Captain Henry was killed in battle, and J. M. Mitchell and I. P. Johnston succeeded Captain Williams. Upon the death of R. M. Rawlings, J. T. McElvany became captain and was afterward promoted major. Captain Groves, promoted major, was succeeded by S. T. Irvine.
