The whole amount of street mains laid to date is 34 miles 1,251 feet. The number of public lamps now in use is 869, viz: in Jefferson Ward, 238, in Madison Ward, 379; and in Monroe Ward; 252. The largest amount of gas made in any twenty-four hours was on the December --262,400 feet--and the greatest consumption occurred on the night of November 7th, which reached 259,749 feet. The whole amount of gas manufactured since the commencement of the works is 452,826,240 feet. At the date of last report the number of consumers was 2,639; an addition of 161 was made during the past year, making the whole number 2,800.
