The first Cavalry Regiment.
This company, with eleven other companies, constituted then the 1st Regiment of cavalry, and was commanded by Colonel J. E. B. Stuart until after First Manassas, in which battle he charged Heintgelman's Zouaves with Company D and the Loudoun company.
