Robbery. --The store of Mrs. Octavia Robinson, on Shockoe Hill, was forcibly entered last Saturday night and robbed of a large amount of groceries and other articles of value. On Sunday morning officer Griffin and detective Williams discovered, concealed in a culvert on 6th street, a quantity of the candies, sugar, lard, brandy, etc., which had been stolen.
Remanded. --David S. Williams, for drawing a pistol against Watchman Pearce, whilst in the discharge of his duty last Saturday, was examined by the Mayor yesterday, and remanded. Being a soldier, he will probably be turned over to Gen. Winder, and forwarded to his command. Williams denied drawing the pistol, and declared that he had no intention of interfering with the police. Remanded. --David S.
