Memphis and Ohio Railroad. --The Memphis Appeal, of the 15th, says: At a meeting of the board of directors of the Memphis and Ohio Railroad, held yesterday, the following gentlemen were elected to fill the various offices: President, J. P. Wood; Secretary and Treasurer, J. M. Tomeny. The President subsequently appointed Thomas Dodamead General Superintendent. With an excellent body of officers such as the above, the Memphis and Ohio Railroad will continue to advance in prosperity and usefulness.

ndance upon her Majesty. The sales of cotton reported from Liverpool on September 30, since the preceding Friday, amount to 172,360 bales, the largest quantity ever attained in one week. The London Times, of the 2d of October, says: By the ship Asia, of New York, a cargo of crust guano has lately been imported from the Island of Sombrero and landed in the West India Docks. Sombrero is situate near the Dutch island of St. Martin, in the West Indies, and is the property of Messrs. Wood & Sons, of New York, who are said to hold it under the protection of the United States Government. The discovery of the guano deposits on the island is of recent date. Hitherto the shipments have been chiefly to the Southern ports of the States, but as those are now blockaded the supply may probably be directed towards England. Accounts from Malaga of the 14th ultimo state that business was rather more brisk for the United Kingdom and the North, or Balue ports, but as regards the U
