Hustings Court. --This Court met yesterday pursuant to adjournment — Present; Recorder James K. Caskie, and a full bench of Aldermen. John H. Wright, Richard D. Sanxay, and Marcellus T. Starke, qualified as Notaries Public. Samuel E. Fox, for permitting his slave Royall to go at large and hire himself out contrary to law was fined $10 and costs. The Court recommended that Thomas R. Price be exonerated from the payment of certain tax on profits erroneously charged a second time. An account due Dr. John Dove, amounting to $300 for attendance on prisoners in the city jail, was ordered to be paid. The case against Napoleon Burke and John Hammon, charged with unlawful trespass, assault and battery, was continued till the October term. Nancy, slave of Rachel Burruss, charged with a felony, committed on the 26th of August, in stealing a lot of goods from Jos. M. Skinner, was found guilty and sentenced to receive 30 lashes.
