Coffe ebel force, led by Marmaduke, estimated at 4,000 strong, mostly mounted, emerged from northern Arkansas, and, evading our main body, under Gen. Blunt, struck at Springfield, known to be filled with Federal munitions and provisions, lightly guarded.
