Burying Ground. The Middle, or Central School House stood on the Common, west of the Meeting-House, and nearly or quite half way from the Meeting-House and Nathan Robbins's present property. The rear end of the school-house abutted on the brick-wall of the long range of tombs erected in 1810 and 1811, and the school-house was view of West Cambridge, in 1817, shows the First Parish meeting-house of that date. The mansion of Hon. William Whittemore in the foreground, now occupied by Nathan Robbins, Esq. The house of Dea. Ephraim Cutter and Col. Thomas Russell's store to the right, both of which are still standing. In the distance, beyond Dea. Cutter'srfield, William Hill, 2d, John Schouler and George C. Russell. Busts and other ornaments to decorate the town hall, were presented to the town, in 1863, by Nathan Robbins, J. S. Potter, D. W. Horton, Joshua Dodge, Robert Schouler, Jesse Bucknam, George C.
