Joseph Marye, an Italian, living on 23d st., was arraigned before the Recorder, yesterday, charged with feloniously inflicting a gun-shot wound on the arm of Georgiana Scott, a free negress, a few weeks since. It appeared that the load, consisting of a ten-penny nail, went through Scott's house and entered her arm, from which it was extracted by Dr. Waring. The defendant had been in the habit of discharging fire-arms on his premises, and the accident above related was one of the results of that reprehensible practice. There was an entire absence of felonious intent — though, when defendant was informed of the damage done, he left the city, and was not apprehended till Tuesday, on his return. The wounded person made a lucky escape in getting "scot free," as she had an infantile piccaniuny in her arms when the missile struck her person. She has not yet entirely recovered.
