Sentence commuted. --Tapley, the slave of Sanford Taylor, of Fairfax county, Va., convicted for attempting to kill Mr. Jas. Roby and family, by mixing ground glass in their food, and sentenced to be sold and transported beyond the limits of the United States, was, on Tuesday last, removed to Richmond by a special messenger dispatched for him by the Governor. His sentence has been commuted to labor on the public works of the State for life.
