Alleged Mail Robbery. --On last Friday, a negro named Baldwin, owned by Mr. G. B. Claiborne, of California, was arrested and carried before United States Commissioner Watson, on the charge of embezzling and stealing two letters from the Richmond Post-Office. The negro was sent on, and bail entered to the amount of $300 for his appearance for trial. The same party was to have been before the Commissioner at 5 o'clock yesterday, for stealing money from some letters sometime in January or February. The proof of either crime is regarded as rather too light to ensure conviction.
