The Convention met in the Mechanics' Hall, for the last time, on Saturday, re-assembling Monday in the Hall of the House of Delegates. Though there is less room in the last named place, there are such conveniences as desks for members, and an abundance of light — both important to persons who are to deliberate upon and determine the future standing of the Old Dominion. Monday all the available space not in use by members was quickly thronged with eager and attentive spectators. Among the visitors to the Convention was the venerable Bishop Meade, of the Protestant Episcopal Church, besides a number of other well-known clergymen. One gallery of the House has been assigned to the ladies, and with condescending amiability they see daily that it does not suffer for want of use.
