Affairs in Memphis, Tenn --The Memphis Appeal, of the 22d inst., says: The river opposite this point was about stationary yesterday, with indications of a decline. The John Walsh came into port about two o'clock, and as it had been generally reported that a party of armed men were on board of her proceeding North, our citizen soldiery, and, in fact, nearly our whole population, were on the bluff and levee to witness her arrival. She was boarded by the military, the Confederate flag run up on her mast-head, and her books taken possession of by the authorities. A large quantity of her cargo is for Nashville, and will be forwarded from this point by rail. A quantity of her freight is for points north of the Ohio, however, and this will most likely never reach its intended destination.
