Continued. --Luther R. Long, arrested for being drunk and trespassing on the Exchange Hotel premises, was yesterday brought before the Mayor, who continued the case until to-day. Defendant said he was from North Carolina. He had been residing at Culpeper C. H., Va., teaching school. In March last he was an applicant for an office under Lincoln. Several letters were found on his person dated from. Washington and New York. He offered to procure good references. The Mayor will hold him till his political status be ascertained. A huge knife owned by Long was locked up to await the final disposition of its owner.
