Too much Liberty. --Daniel McClelland was released from the City Jail on Thursday, on his own promise to lead a temperate, sober life, after a period of incarceration for habits of vagrancy. Intending to take passage per steamer Schultz for the distant regions of James City, he journeyed towards Rocketts, and there fell among those whose blandishments he could not resist. He drank, trespassed on a citizen's premises, fell into the hands of the police, and was yesterday sent back to his old quarters.
Fowl thieves. --The inhabitants of the suburbs continue to complain of depredations upon their poultry, and urge the patrols of the county to keep a sharp look-out for the thieves. A few nights ago eighteen chickens were stolen from Henry Myers, who lives below Rocketts, and other robberies of hen roosts are mentioned.
