Didn't know what a Barbette gun was.
--"Union-Slide Banks, one of the Major Generals, the Ohio Watchman says, did not know when appointed to that office what a barbette gun was. He inquired of Gen. Prentiss, of Columbus, in that State, who happened to be at Washington at the time-- "General, what is a barbette gun?
I don't know." The General ought to have informed him that it was an invention to slide the Union asunder.
