The ladies of King and Queen. --A letter from the military post at Gloucester Point says: "The ladies of King and Queen county are acting a noble part Nearly every vessel from the Mattaponi brings down a box with bread, quickens, butter, preserves, pickles, &c., &c., for the hospitals at this place and Yorktown; besides this they are cutting up their feather beds to make pillows and mattresses for the hospital. One lady sent down a few days ago 32 feather pillows, with linen cases, made out of her beds and sheets for the hospital at Yorktown. They are also making up shirts and sending them down for the soldiers — for all of which they will have the blessings and heartily gratitude of many a sick and wearied soldier. These efforts will not go unrewarded. I do not mean by what I have said about King and Queen to make any invidious comparison with any other county. Gloucester county has done her whole duty."
