Arrival of the President — a personal reconnaissance — Movements and Vandalism of the enemy. Fairfax C. H., Oct. 2.--The President arrived night before last. Yesterday, escorted by the Adams Troop, of Mississippi, he made a personal reconnaissance in the vicinity, and towards the outposts. At Beauregard's headquarters, the rain today prevented a general review of the troops by the President. He was greeted, however, by the soldiers, wherever he appeared, with enthusiasm.
