auz Exhibition for the benefit of the sick soldiers — Railroad meeting, &c. [Special correspondence of the Dispatch.] Clarksville, Mecklenburg, Oct. 18th, 1861. On Tuesday evening last the ladies of our town and neighborhood enlivened the community by interesting tableaux for the benefit of the sick soldiers. The entertainment was exceedingly agreeable. The principal ladies under whose auspices the tableaux were in augurated are the Misses Carrington, Miss Anna Williams, Miss Anna Talley, Miss Wood, and several others whose names do not now occur to me. The receipts were fifty-three dollars, which amount is flattering to the young ladies, when the scarcity of material for an audience is taken into consideration. I presume that this money will be forwarded to the Young Men's Aid Society in Richmond, if it has not already gone.
