th inst., we copy the following: Information reached this city yesterday that a portion of the Federal troops destined for the expedition to the Eastern shore of Virginia, left Newtown, Md., on Sunday morning, and proceeded towards Accomac county, Va. They were accompanied by Captain Knight, the Assistant Adjutant of Gen. Lockwood, with a flag of truce. Capt. Knight is reported to have soon ascertained that the Confederates, or those in arms in Accomac, had all dispersed the night previous, and gone, it was supposed, into Northampton county. Capt. Knight found entrenchments in several places, apparently hastily abandoned. Captain Richards's cavalry proceeded as far as Drummond town, which is the county seat of Accomac. In this town the American flag was hoisted on Sunday evening, and many of the people are represgnted to be pleased with the views set forth in the proclamation of General Dix.--The Purnell Legion and the Second Delaware Regiment remained at Newtown on Sunday.
