At a called communication of Day Lodge, No. 68, held in the Masons' Hell, Louisa C. H., on the 12th October, A. L. 5,861, A. D. 1861, the following preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted: Whereas, we have received the sad intelligence that our worthy and much- esteemed brother, James O. Carroll, Junior Warden of this Lodge, died on the 10th October, A. L. 5861, A. D. 1861: Therefore. Resolved, That in the death of brother Carroll, the Masonic fraternity has lost one of its ornaments; this Lodge one of its most zealous members, and this community one of its most valued and useful citizens. Resolved, That we tender to the family of our deceased brother our heartfelt sympathies in the severe affliction an All-wise God has sent upon them. Resolved, That the members of this Lodge wear the usual badge of mourning for the space of thirty days; and the furniture of the Lodge be draped in mourning for 30 days.
