--We learn from good authority that a distinguished officer of the Federal army at Paducah, recently made a bet of $5000 "that peace would be proclaimed in sixty days." The officers of the army generally appear to be of the same opinion, as they were selling their fine horses as fast as possible.--Memphis Appeal, 12th.
