Miss Mary Elizabeth Goodman, aged 18 years, of Fayetteville, N. C., was shockingly burned on Christmas morning, and died the same night. Groundpea oil, a very superior article for machinery, is now manufactured on a large scale in Wilmington, N. C. Stephen Jones, a member of Walker's Artillery, was found drowned in Aquia Creek on Sunday morning last. It is supposed that he lost his life in a state of mental aberation. The correspondent of one of the Cincinnati jounals, writing from St. Lous, states that Price has cluded the trap which was set for him, by retiring toward the Arkansas line. At an election held in Knoxville, a few days since, for Mayor and Aldermen, the straightout Southern ticket was defeated.
