own person, alleged to have been stolen. The jury could not agree, and the case was continued until the next term. Jas. H. Keyser, who has been in the city jail for two months past, was tried for shooting a pistol in one of the streets, and fined $6, and ordered to be imprisoned till the fine and costs of prosecution be paid. The following parties, indicted for misdemeanor, gave bail for their appearance at the next term of the Court, viz: Stephen Page, ($150;) John Denzler, ($100;) Arthur Furgeson, ($200;) Martin Maddox, ($150.) William Appleyard was tried for petty larceny, found guilty and ordered to be imprisoned for 60 days in the city jail, and to pay the costs of prosecution. Jno. H. F. Mayo and Henry C. Wilson were each fined $10 and costs, for permitting slaves owned by them to go at large. The bill of Sergeant Dudley for maintenance of prisoners in the city jail, from Oct. 11 to January 11, amounting to $2,878.45, was presented and ordered to be paid.
