ssembly of Virginia.Senate. Monday, March 10, 1862. The Senate was called to order at 12 o'clock by the President. Prayer by Rev. Mr. Baker. House bill declaring "the powers of boards of exemption, and to impose penalties on members of such boards for usurping powers not conferred on them," was referred to the Committee on Military Affairs. House bill authorizing the reorganization of the Culpeper Minute Men and the Culpeper Rifles, was amended and laid on the table. Mr. Day, Senator from Isle of Wight, rose to a personal explanation. He stated that when a call of the Senate was made, a few days since, he had gone home to attend to matters of imperious necessity. The explanation was deemed perfectly satisfactory by the Senate. The bill to amend the 1st, 7th and 12th sections of an act, entitled "an act to raise troops to meet the requisition on Virginia by the President of the Confederate States," passed February 16, 1862, was taken up and passed.
