The Ladies' Bazaar, on Broad street, conducted by Mrs. Vernon, begins to present quite a busy appearance, and articles are being daily added to the already beautiful collection. Several paintings and engravings, some of them very valuable, have recently been presented to the Association, and these, together with other things which adorn the bazaar, make it well worth a visit. As is well known, the original purpose of the association was to expend the money collected and the proceeds of the sales to the building of a gunboat for the defence of Richmond. Considering the number of sick soldiers now in the city, and the exertions of the Government in perfecting the defences of the river, it is proposed that the fund of the association be appropriated for the relief of sick and wounded soldiers.
