of Richmond, received during the late battles near Manassas, Friday, August 29th. Killed: Sergt. John J. Reynolds, Privates James Cornett, Wm. J. Thorpe, and Thomas Lacy. --Wounded: Privates Wm. Alley, severely in leg, since amputated; Robert Waddill, severely in back; Corp'l John St. Clair, burned very severely by bursting of limber chest. A young man named Owen Norris, from Baltimore, not a member of the company, but who gallantly volunteered that morning just for the fight, was also severely burned by this explosion. Privates Wm. Kinstry and Thos. Hoskins were slightly wounded in ankle. Several others were slightly wounded, but not incapacitated from duty. On Saturday, 30th, though more furiously engaged than the day before, only four or five were wounded, and they very slightly — not incapacitated from duty. On Monday, 1st September, though not engaged, the battery was under fire, and Sergt. Giles Courtney was wounded quite severely in arm. The battery also lost many horses.
