ednesday, Oct. 8, 1862. Senate.--The Senate met at 11 o'clock A. M.--Hon. Mr. Orr in the chair. Prayer by Rev. Mr. Joter. Mr. Yancey introduced the follow the written proof? he would deny the signature of the Secretary of War. Mr. Orr wanted to know if the Senator (Mr. Hill) stated that the Secretary of War had d stated that if any such orders existed they were without his authority. Mr. Orr said the remedy was to report the officers acting without authority, and have them dealt with. Mr. Hill said he did not know them. Mr. Orr suggested that those subjected to the inconveniences know them. Mr. Hill stated as anothe Ayes--Messrs. Baker, Havnes, Hill, Hunter Johnson Lewis, Mitchell, Oldham, Orr, Preston Semmas and Yancey.--12. Nays--Messrs. Clay, Davis, Henry, Phelan, anding and the vote being taken, it was decided in the negative, Messrs. Haynes, Orr, Phelan, and Wigfall being the only Senators present voting in the affirmative.
