g parties, for the offences set opposite to their names, viz: John A. Whitman, for forging Treasury notes of the Confederate States; Gilmer Augustus Lumpkin, for forging a check for $6,000, payable at the Traders' Bank, purporting to be signed by Owens & Son, and payable to the order of West & Johnston; James M. Armour, for the murder of a soldier on Canal street, several months since, while acting as a pretended provost guard; Peter Doyle and John Duna, for horse stealing; Thos. Wilson and Mikhe murder of Michael Leary, on the 18th of September. After making the above indictments the Grand Jury adjourned till next Friday. The Judge, on motion of the attorney for G. A. Lumpkin, in the first indictment found against him for forging Owens & Son's name, quashed the indictment for errors apparent on its face. The indictment found above is the second one in the same case. James Jones was put on trial for stealing a trunk and contents from Capt. James G. Hawthorne. --Messrs. E.
