--The English Register states that the cause of Gen. Hill's raising the siege of Washington N. C., was the bursting of a cannon railed upon to prevent the enemy reinforcing the town by water.
A correspondent of the State Journal says since his withdrawal the Yankees are burning houses and committing atrocious outrages in the country around Washington.
