Mayor's Court April 10th --James a resident of Solitude, was examined and sent on to the Hustings Court on the charge of receiving from Atherton, slave of James C. Ellett, a lot of plates, dishes and other articles to the value of $100, stolen by Albert from Hall Neilson's estate. Albert was also sent on for trial, but balled by his master. John Kenny was sent to the Hustings Court for examination on the charge of stealing a hug from Saran Miller. Chas. Harris, a negro, was ordered thirty nine stripes for assisting in the transaction. Woodson, slave of Geo. Duggan, was examined for breaking into Frederick Weidmeyer's smoke-house and stealing 300 pounds of bacon. A summons against Dr Seal for allowing a vicious dog, owned by him, to go at large and site a man, on the 26th of April, was dismissed.
