Disastrous fire in Thomaston, Ga. Macon, Ga., August 31. --A great fire has occurred in Thomaston, in this State, commencing on Saturday night at 10 o'clock. Three sides of the public square were destroyed; two public houses, the Thomaston Hotel, and Webb's Hotel, were burnt; also, the printing office of the Upson Pilot. The post-office and a large quantity of Government corn and some-wheat were lost. The bacon was mostly saved. Two hundred and thirty bales of cotton were burnt. The whole business part of the town is in ruins, except two small stores. The fire was the work of an incendiary. The loss is estimated at $300,000.
