It is an iron gun, its make antique, looking like old- time cannon, moulded when the world was not as old by centuries as now. Its calibre is that of a 36-pounder. Columbus, Oct. 8.--The following is the result of the election held in this city yesterday: For Governor — Brown, 449; Furlow, 458; Hill, 48. For Congress — Blanford, 668; Holt, 284. Taylor county: For Governor — Hill, 96; Brown, 64; Furlow, 20. For Congress: Holt, 141; Balnford, 46. Savannah, Oct. 8.--The State election held here yesterday resulted as follows: Brown, for Governor, 1,216; Hill, 15; Frue low, 259. Congress — Hartridge, 1,320; King, 176; Hopkins, 17.
