On Tuesday morning, at three o'clock, fatigued and completely worn out, they approached the Union pickets, and, being challenged, the Major asked whether he was a Union man or rebel, when the sentinel replied the former.--The picket, on asking "Who goes there?" received in reply, "Two Union officers, escaped from Libby, Major Houstain, of the One Hundred and Thirty-second New York Volunteers, and Lieut. He detained the fugitives until four o'clock, when the relief came up, and the two officers were escorted to the guard-house.
