scoundrel; Craddock said he would chastise Ford; Ford punched him with an umbrella; Craddock drew a pistol and it went off, didn't know which advanced on the other; didn't hear Craddock call on any one to take Ford to the watch- house; while officer Adams was talking to Craddock Ford came up and cursed him, and took a stick from some one to strike him. Thomas Guinty saw Craddock and Ford talking; Ford jumped back and struck Craddock with an umbrella; Craddock pulled out a pistol and witness ran; Ford had put his hand behind him as if to draw a pistol; witness heard a pistol fire, and looking back, saw Ford have Craddock down; some gentlemen separated them.
