f Mrs. Stovin, a sister of the Mayor, Recorder James K. Caskie presided in this court yesterday morning. The following cases were acted on: Ananias Mann, a free negro, was ordered to receive thirty-nine lashes for stealing a ham of bacon from Burruss, Garnett & Co. Albert, slave of Patrick Russell, was whipped for receiving the same, knowing it to have been stolen. The same punishment was inflicted upon Chess, slave of Wm. Culling worth, charged with stealing a piece of beef from George R. Wilson. John Buckley, committed to jail by the Recorder on Thursday for drunkenness and disorderly conduct in the City Hall, was discharged, he having sufficiently sobered off to know how to conduct himself. Buckley, who when arrested was dressed in a good suit of clothes, made his appearance in court yesterday morning, minus coat, vest, hat and boots!
