--A fair for the benefit of Confederate prisoners of war at the North is to be held in London, England, in October, under the patronage of Her Imperial Highness the Princess Murat, the Marchionesses of Bath, Lothian and Aylesbury, Countess of Chesterfield, and other distinguished ladies.
It is suggested that the ladies of the South may send to this fair specimens of their handiwork for sale.
Such contributions may be sent to the Mercury office, Charleston, South Carolina, and they will be forwarded to London.
