Serious accident.
--On Saturday night last, about 8 o'clock, Lewis E. Harvie, Esq., President of the Richmond and Danville railroad, met with a most severe accident.
He was coming down the road on a hand-car, and coming through Manchester, the car going at full speed was run into a passenger car standing on the track, which, owing to the darkness of the night, could not be seen.
Mr. Harvie's thigh was broken by the concussion, and a negro on the car was thrown off and so seriously injured that he died yesterday morning.
Dr. Conway and other physicians were soon on the spot and set the fractured limb of Mr. Harvie.
Yesterday be was doing well, and strong hopes are entertained of his recovery.
