House of Representatives. The House met at the usual hour, and was opened with prayer by Rev. Dr. Doggett, of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The Chair laid before the House a communication from the Secretary of the Treasury asking the passage of an act cancelling, before maturity, bonds for the payment of sequestrated property. Referred to the Finance Committee. Mr. McMullin, of Virginia, took the floor on his propositions on the subject of peace. Mr. E. M. Bruce, of Kentucky, moved to transfer the matter to secret session. All the resolutions on the subject were finally referred to the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The House took up, in Committee of the Whole, and considered the currency bill; and, after discussion, the committee rose and the House adjourned.
