Magruder's men. --It is said that Col. Magruder had with him at the Bethel Church his old force of regulars who were under him in the United States Army, they having deserted in order to join their old leader. This may account, in part, for the terrible effect with which the guns managed in the late fight.--Savannah Republican. A slight mistake. The artillerists on that occasion were two companies of the Richmond Howitzer Battalion; as brave and determined young men as ever aimed a Col.
