Robert Curry (search for this): article 6
Destitution and death of a Revolutionary Soldier. --Robert Curry, a veteran of the Revolution, died near Cincinnati one day last week under circumstances of extreme destitution. For several weeks prior to his death he was without the common necessaries of life, and his son and two step-daughters who were living with him, not being able to defray his funeral expenses, permitted the body to lie for several days on the bed in which the veteran died, until the police, hearing of the matter, had the remains decently interred. The deceased was one hundred and two years of age, born in Little York, Pennsylvania, in 1758. At the age of thirteen he enlisted as drummer boy in the Continental army, and served through the war of the Revolution. He came to Cincinnati in 1816, and resided here until his death.
