Mr. Barksdale moved a reconsideration of the latter vote, which motion was under discussion at 2½ o'clock, when the House took a recess till 8 o'clock.

The Alabama has captured and burnt about twenty-eight vessels since she has been in commission. No answer has yet been received by France in answer to the French offer of intervention.
