Day, Esq., of New York, laid before the Transportation Committee of the Board of Trade, on the 26th instant, his plan for a ship canal, with double inclined planes, the vessel always floating in water around the Falls of Niagara, whereby it is possible to take a ship of the largest tonnage adapted to the lake trade, and in half an hour pas it on the other side of the falls with her cargo undisturbed.
