[921] λύσιν ... εὐαγῆ a solution without defilement: i.e. some end to our anxieties, other than such an end as would be put to them by the fulfilment of the oracles dooming Oedipus to incur a fearful ἄγος. For εὐαγὴς λύσις as = one which will leave us εὐαγεῖς, cp. Pind. O. 1.26 “καθαροῦ λέβητος,” the vessel of cleansing.
