a street in the campus Martius, mentioned once by Livy (xxii. 36. 8: in via fornicata quae ad campum erat, 216 B.C.). The name is derived from certain arches that ran beside the street or spanned it, and it may possibly (HJ 485) be that which was afterwards called VIA TECTA (q.v.).
