[430] On the question of the genuineness of this episode (to 489) see Introduction. βίηι ἀέκοντος seems to be a pleonastic expression, ‘in spite of him unwilling.’ We cannot construe “ἀέκοντος” with “ἀπηύρων”, as verbs of robbing take a double acc.
