[48] μεθέηκε, ceases to weep; we must supply “κλαίειν καὶ ὀδύρεσθαι”, as 23.434 “μεθέηκεν ἐλαύνειν”. The verb cannot be joined with the aor. participles on the analogy of “παύεσθαι κλαίων”.
