(μακρός), and then fem. (ῥηιδίη). It is more commonly fem., like other words meaning way, e.g., ὁδός, κέλευθος, ἀτραπός, etc. Possibly the poet had one of these in mind with ῥηιδίη. See G. 194, 1; H. 152 c. χαλεπή περ ἐοῦσα: sc. τὸ πρῶτον. Ἐπίχαρμος: a comic poet from Cos, who flourished in Syracuse about 500 B.C.
